Episode 56 – Kommissar Rex – Ein mörderischer Sommer – 1995

Andrew Jacoby joins us today to discuss the sexiest episode of Kommissar Rex we have ever (un-)covered. We talk about sexy buns, great missing one-liners and how to be the most charming and best-looking Austrian detective in the history of the world.

Bonus: We fix the unfair world of media representing humanoid Verpa and Cunnus.

Episode 52 – Kommissar Rex – Im Zeichen des Satans – 1995

Our first episode ever recorded on British soil is with the wonderful Dom Mackie! He helps me through this devilishly weird amalgamation of satanic imagery. We discuss schisms in various forms, humorous coffin-sledding and the soft touch of mothers.

Our first All-Star episode features three of our best co-hosts: Monika Ben, Jack Holmes and Reginald Barris are here to discuss weird underwear, uncomfortable puppets and explosions and their lack of. It is a true, beautiful mess.

Flo is back and we are in the mood of closing up one of the main staples of this podcast. Sam Ford joins us today to discuss the 6th episode of Space Patrol Orion and we have a grand time! Catholics show up, great special effects are discussed, the lighting and the weird lightning get a special mention. Truly one of the better episodes of this series.

Episode 24 – Space Patrol Orion – Der Kampf um die Sonne – Part 2 – 1966

Regi is back to complete our quest of figuring this episode of Space Patrol Orion out and we came out the side, victoriously! We continue to talk about Glücksfische, pranking Jack Holmes (successfully) and as the booze keeps flowing it gets harder and harder to stay on topic.

Episode 20 – Die Piefke Saga – Der Skandal – 1990

A real Austrian classic, is the target of the 20th episode of FFPÖ and I pulled out a good amount of stops for you guys: we have our first “professional” co-host with us this time in the great Tommy Meyer-Ortiz. He and I wax poetically about the Austrian landscape, the rift between Austrians and Germans, stereotypes and the crushing realism, that this movie portraits, without being to cynical or evil. But as always, tangents are ahead and we get lost a few times in the woods mad out of our own words.

Also, I lie about it being a two-parter at the end of the episode, disregard that.

Episode 17 – Space Patrol Orion – Der Kampf um die Sonne [Part 1] – 1966

The future is here: a stand-up comedian (who is situated in Vienna) in the purest form and in the physical representation of Reginald Barris is my guest in my (new) home-studio and we went really, really for Overkill! with this one! An exciting episode full of romance, global warming and Aliens (not Aliens). But we went on so many tangents and side-routes, you could call this episode a masterpiece of getting distracted, that is why this is the first part and the second part will come out in due time.

Episode 16 – Kommissar Rex – Der Puppenmörder – 1996

My dear friend Alex returns (last seen on The Rekottaning) to discuss this gem of Austrian tv. A head-to-head between a menacing mass-murdering puppet repairman (played by Christoph Waltz) and the good inspector with his always entertaining side-kick Rex, who always steals the show. This is one for the ages and FFPÖ wants to thank you all for a great year and an even better 2017!

Episode 15 – Aufschneider (Sang chaud et chambre froide) – Teil 1 – 2010

Merry Christmas everyone, what better way to celebrate this wonderful season than to listen to a new episode of FFPÖ? Because nothing says Happy Holidays more than a super, super dark comedy made by the Austrian master himself, Josef Hader, in a co-production with ARTE. Organs get stolen, people get harassed, cars get smashed, alcohol is consumed and dialogue so cringy that your toenails will bend up, all in all the perfect complement for the season and Nelly and I are trying to give it appropriate frame.
