Special Episode 1 – The Migrumpies – Die Migrantigen – 2017

FFPÖ covers a movie (Die Migrantigen – The Migrumpies) that is still in theaters, a first for us, and we get one of our best migrantig co-hosts, Tamas Vamos, to cover it. We talk about great white sharks, gangsters, migration and what it means to be schwul. And we didn’t even do one migraine pun, we are very proud of ourselves!

Episode 42 – Komm, süßer Tod – Come Sweet Death – 2000

Our residential Josef Hader correspondent, Luke Hacker, is back and we cover a lot of ground while totally losing our bearings, just like the main character in this movie.
We cover police incompetence, biker/ambulance gangs, the best use of a gun and the comedic quality of the Viennese attitude towards death.

Episode 35 – Indien – India – 1993

The crazy talented Hanna Evensen is back and she brought us an additional co-host, represented in Paris. And since having two people here at the same time means that I lose all control over the situation, the podcast devolves and evolves very quickly. I didn’t have that much fun in a while and we discuss one of the true modern classics, Indien, and we get very, very serious about it.

Episode 25 – Silentium – 2004

Luke Hacker is back and we continue our journey through the Brenner-series of movies with one of the strongest entries. Salzburg provides the perfect background for this intriguing story about murder, suicide, big money, big opera and being reborn in the eyes of the Lord! And we try to derive humor from it.

Episode 21 – Der Knochenmann – The Bone Man – 2009

Luke Hacker is my gracious co-host this time and we try to be as fun as we can, while talking about eating people in this here proto-Hannibal film. And the movie shows that preparing humans is as disgusting or as delicious as you want it to be. A movie so Austrian in its core, that you will find it hard to not party afterwards with a Schnitzel in your mouth and Mozart in your ears. Now listen to us ramble on about it for more than an hour!

Episode 15 – Aufschneider (Sang chaud et chambre froide) – Teil 1 – 2010

Merry Christmas everyone, what better way to celebrate this wonderful season than to listen to a new episode of FFPÖ? Because nothing says Happy Holidays more than a super, super dark comedy made by the Austrian master himself, Josef Hader, in a co-production with ARTE. Organs get stolen, people get harassed, cars get smashed, alcohol is consumed and dialogue so cringy that your toenails will bend up, all in all the perfect complement for the season and Nelly and I are trying to give it appropriate frame.

Episode 4 – Ein halbes Leben (Half a Life) – 2009

A moving movie where the inability to move on drives the plot. Nelly and Paul try to give other actors next to Josef Hader a chance but his saddening appearance and demeanor just overshadow everything, including the horrifying and complicated matter that this film presents us with. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
