Episode 7 – Das merkwürdige Verhalten geschlechtsreifer Großstädter zur Paarungszeit – 1998

After a long break our summer hiatus is over and we are back with a new and exciting episode of FFPÖ! Nelly and I sit back at the table to discuss this gem of German 90ness and ask: Who is this movie for? Can the music be more awesome? Who is the main character? Why is this movie such a hot mess? All this and more we try to answer in the 7th episode and we try our best.

A special thank you to Goblins from Mars (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7r8TN-JGGrTyCmIJSShdkw) who thankfully gave me permission to use their music for the intro.

Episode 6 – Space Patrol Orion – Planet außer Kurs – 1966

We continue our trek through the stars and those stars are aligned for a war, a star battle of sorts if you will, happens in this episode. Nelly and I apply our drunken senses to get to the core of this action-laden episode in less then 15 minutes and find nearly only good things to say.

Episode 5 – Space Patrol Orion – Angriff aus dem All – 1966

The first ever real TV-episode we review is from the 1966 show Space Patrol Orion and we will be dissecting it in less than 15 minutes. We hurdle, just like the crew of the Orion, through time and space to meet strange new creatures and witness fantastic adventures and all this accompanied by the marvelous soundtrack of the voices of my esteemed co-host Nelly and I, Paul.

Episode 4 – Ein halbes Leben (Half a Life) – 2009

A moving movie where the inability to move on drives the plot. Nelly and Paul try to give other actors next to Josef Hader a chance but his saddening appearance and demeanor just overshadow everything, including the horrifying and complicated matter that this film presents us with. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

Episode 3 – Last Action Hero – 1993

In the latest episode of FFPÖ Nelly and I try to pry open the wonderchest, that is this Arnold Braunschweiger vehicle that wasn’t well received at the time but still got our attention nonetheless. An enjoyable ride that tries to go full circle but does end up biting its tail at several points.

Episode 2 – Der Schüler Gerber (The Student Gerber) – 1981

In the second episode of FFPÖ Nelly and Paul discuss the TV movie The Student Gerber, an Austrian classic based on the novel of the same name. We talk about flashbacks of our own education and the power this movie still represents.

Episode 1 – Tiger- Frühling in Wien (Springtime in Vienna) – 1984

In the first ever episode of FFPÖ, Nelly and I try our best to come up with a plan to describe this movie in all its glory and we fail sadly. This cry for help from Peter Patzak is a long lost gem of Austrian film and it goes very nicely with 3-4 six-packs. A proper start for this here podcast.
